As an experienced accountant, Mark has helped people structure their assets, increase their profits, and minimize their tax burdens for over 20 years.
Mark began his journey as a corporate controller for an airline parts brokerage in Milwaukee, WI after graduating from SIU-Carbondale. He steered the company through a multi-million dollar merger and then took the helm as CFO before embarking on consulting for small to mid-sized businesses across the nation.
From managing finances to optimizing profits, Mark knows that great accountants ask great questions. The problem? Many accountants aren’t trained to do so.
Setting sights beyond the status quo.
Determined to help the person behind the number, Mark pursued an advanced degree at The John Marshall Law School to complement his work experience, earning both a Juris Doctor Degree and a Master of Laws in Tax Law in 2019. At the same time, Mark also completed his MBA in HR Management from Robert Morris University.
Now, Mark and the AMD team confidently approach any tax situation with a holistic view of what businesses and individuals actually need out of their accountant. They consistently seek the story beyond the surface and deliver solutions that have a more meaningful, tangible impact on the lives of their clients.

Hollie Meyer
VP OF OPERATIONS
Hollie joined AMD Tax Advising & Accounting as Vice President of Operations in July of 2024. She is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, improving internal processes, and ensuring we continue to provide the highest level of service to our clients. With a strong background in strategic planning, team leadership, and process optimization, Hollie’s expertise in enhancing operational efficiencies greatly impacts the evolution of AMD.

Yessica Valadez
SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Yessica has over a decade of experience in accounting, with expertise in payroll, financial statements, workpapers, and reconciliations. She earned her accounting degree from Gateway Technical College in 2017, along with certifications in Payroll and Tax Preparation. At AMD, she oversees all client bookkeeping and accounting, financial reporting, payroll and accounting client communication, and the Staff Accountant team. Outside of work, Yessica enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and two boys.

A graduate of Waukesha County Technical College, Mikaela brings both fresh perspective and strong determination to her role at AMD. As a mother of two, she understands the importance of responsibility, planning, and doing things right the first time. With an eye for detail and a commitment to continual learning, Mikaela loves helping clients make informed, confident decisions about their financial futures. Her steady approach and genuine enthusiasm for the work make her a strong addition to the AMD team.

Shannon Scarpetta
EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT
Shannon serves as Executive Assistant to Mark Dutter, keeping him on track and ensuring client communication stays timely, organized, and nothing falls through the cracks.
She brings a rare and highly transferable skill set to the role: successfully managing three children and a 6'4" husband who occasionally forgets bottom shelves exist. That kind of chaos coordination translates perfectly to the work.
As your primary point of contact for coordinating with Mark, Shannon is available via the AMD cell line at 608-436-3387 during normal business hours.
